Amesco Tower

DUBAI

A residential and office tower comprising four basement levels, 50 above-ground floors, and featuring seven private sky villas and an infinity pool at roof level.

  • SCOPE OF WORK

    Amesco Tower

    • Specialised design of transfer beams at level 50 to support the addition of a two-storey steel framed structure above, and an infinity swimming pool.
    • The concrete box girder transfer beams are elevated 20 m above level 49 and span 52 m between the two concrete shear cores.
    • In-depth studies at concept stage to ensure a viable scheme considering the impact on lateral stability, horizontal movements, long term deflections, vibration criteria, thermal performance, and vertical element design.

BENEFITS

CCL delivered the following benefits:

  • security

    Safety-First Design

Building on top of an existing skyscraper required extensive safety measures.

  • domain

    Specialised Solution

Clients vision of 20-metre-high void below transfer structure achieved.

  • call_missed

    Deflection Reduction

Utilisation of post-tensioning enabled mid-span deflections to be controlled within allowable tolerances.

  • blur_linear

    Vibration Control

Mitigating vibration response factors were a key consideration in reaching a compliant design solution.

  • check

    Cost Effective Design

Post-tensioned box girder transfer beams were considered to be the most cost-effective solution for bridging the 52 m clear span.

  • schedule

    Improved Efficiency

Installation time was significantly reduced using a post-tensioned solution, allowing the construction programme to be condensed.
