Prior to handover of the Doha mall fire broke out damaging 4,700 m² of post-tensioned and hollowcore slabs and beams.

  • SCOPE OF WORK

    SHOPPING MALL

    • On-site investigation into extent of structural damage.
    • Jack-force testing of post-tensioned strands.
    • Grout inspection of exposed tendons.
    • Design of strengthening solution to mitigate the effects of the fire.
    • Removal of soot, dirt and unsound concrete.
    • Refurbishment of damaged slabs using hand-application, sprayed concrete and form and pump technique.
    • Additional passive reinforcement installed.
    • Installation of carbon fibre plates and wraps.
